André René Roussimoff (1946-1993) - French professional wrestler and actor
Known in the wrestling world as “André the Giant,” Roussimoff was, at his biggest, 7’4” and nearly 500 pounds. He suffered from acromegaly (also known as Giantism), a condition that caused him to grow continuously throughout his life. Roussimoff drew huge crowds to his wrestling matches and won titles in the WWF, NWA, and IWA. He went on to star in several movies, but is best remembered for playing Fezzik, the lovable giant in the film The Princess Bride.
